Wow, the first two weeks have been crazy. I have not been able to upload my blog due a virus that hit the company. It will take some time to get fixed so my vonage phone will not be set up for awhile.
Not sure where to start. When I arrived the school was very welcoming. They gave me a car to use for awhile and planned get togethers for me to meet the other new hires. There are a lot of new hires.
I'm learning my way around camp. I have been to the Commissary which is the grocery store, the restaurants, bowling alley, various personnel and HR offices, and the beauty shop (I went to get my first mani pedi). Off camp is a different story. Since I can't drive (you know because of the female status), I have to find rides or get a taxi to go anywhere. I've been to Extra to buy a TV, and the mall just to walk around. We ate at a Chili's which was pretty interesting. We got there during prayer time so we have to wait a few minutes for them to open back up. The menu had mock-tails and beef bacon.... I also went to the American Consulate for a happy hour. The consulate is allowed to have alcohol so there was some wine drinking from me :) The camp parties seem to be a little more frequent because of the holidays. One person has a room set up for karaoke with a stage and everything. I will not be making an appearance on it! It's really fun to see every one's houses, and I can't wait to decorate my house.
Eid is over soon so I will be returning back to work on Saturday. I'm really excited to get back to my room. Right now I have stuff everywhere. I have never been in a classroom with so many materials. Anything and everything is available!
